![]() A great book that celebrates creativity and teaches a little bit about painting. Author of In the Tree House, Bella and the Bunny, Bye Bye Butterflies, The Luck Of Jude, The bagel king, Charlies Dirt Day, Imaginary Garden, See You Next Year. But he does have a nice balcony where the little girl gets the idea to paint a beautiful garden. They used to garden together, but grandpa moves to an apartment and no longer has the space to garden. Inspired in part by the author’s childhood dreams of building a treehouse, Andrew Larsen relates the story of a young boy who designs and builds a treehouse with his older brother and father. It is about a girl and her relationship with her grandfather. Larsen, Andrew, Duan Petrii, and Yvette Ghione. I can actually see using this book as a model to teach children how to paint flowers. I know that some feel that they should have tried harder to grow real plants, and I can see that argument, but I loved their ingenuity and their desire to create beauty in a way that held meaning for them. I like how the illustrations of the patio were mostly black and white with a splash of color to draw your eye to Theo and Poppa, but the illustrations of their painted garden are colorful. I love their artist creation of a garden and Theo's creativity and imagination to really put herself in the garden. Read In the Tree House by Andrew Larsen, Dusan Petrii for free on hoopla. ![]() I loved the relationship Theo has with her grandpa. ![]() Review 1: I really enjoyed this book about Theo and Poppa. ![]()
